/sys/class/fpga-bridge directory is empty

Added by Mike Cherny over 8 years ago

I downloaded the latest kernel sources from the critical link repo, rebuilt the kernel and .dtb files, and loaded them on the sdcard. Everything works fine except I lost the fpga2hps, hps2fpga, and lwhps2fpga folders under the /sys/class/fpga-bridge directory. The folder were there on the sdcard that was included with the eval kit. I am using devkit# 80-000640 and module# 5CSX-H6-42A-RC. The following are the related boot messages:

altera_hps2fpga_bridge soc:fpgabridge@0: regmap for altr,rst-mgr lookup failed.
altera_hps2fpga_bridge soc:fpgabridge@0: probe deferral not supported
altera_hps2fpga_bridge soc:fpgabridge@1: regmap for altr,rst-mgr lookup failed.
altera_hps2fpga_bridge soc:fpgabridge@1: probe deferral not supported
altera_hps2fpga_bridge soc:fpgabridge@2: regmap for altr,rst-mgr lookup failed.

It looks like there might be an issue with the rst-mgr description in the .dts file but I'm currently not very experience with the device tree stuff yet. Any ideas?

Thank you for letting us know about this, it was a bug that was caused by some updates to the ethernet driver, which in turn caused some changes in the dtsi. I've pushed the fix to our git repo, it converts how the reset manager was interfaced from the bridges so they reference the reset manager using the more common reset infrastructure instead of syscon.
